Best beaches in pathanamthitta & alappuzha

Kerala is a beautiful place.

It is a land of waterfalls, water bodies, and many other beautiful places.

On a Sunday or a holiday, beaches in Kerala would be buzzing with people.

There are many beaches in Kerala. And these are great place to spend your leisure time. Some beaches are famous for their beauty but some are unfortunately not that great.

Should you visit a beach in Pathanamtitta, Alappuzha area ? Things to Know.

Pros - Beaches are beautiful, and mostly safe. Some are also very popular & well worth the visit. Many shops and restaurants are located nearby.

Cons - not well managed by local bodies, facilities to change cloths or wash are limited. Lifeguards are not on standby, sometimes beaches are crowded, and sometimes these are not very clean.

Marari beach.

This is my favorite beach in the Pathanamthitta / Alappuzha area. I visited this place few times and it is less crowded compared to Alappuzha beach. But very similar to Alappuzha beach.

It is kind of a less known by locals(compared to Alappuzha) and more of a tourist destination. Restaurants, shops, and hotels are located nearby.

Facilities by government are very limited. But private facilities are available.

Cons - parking is limited. Not much Govt establishment is available.

Pros - cleaner, less crowded, and safe.

Alappy/Alappuzha beach.

Most popular beach in the Pathanamthitta / Alappuzha area. Many shops and restaurants are located nearby.

Other attraction which is located nearby is the lighthouse.

Very long parking space is a good point, paid and free parking are available.

Pros - famous, crowded and relatively clean. Very long beach.

Cons - not many Govt facilities to change cloths or wash.

Thottappally beach.

Local beach best for people who live near the beach. Not so big or crowded compared to the Alappuzha beach.

Pros - this is a place where river and sea meet. It is a good place to spend your leisure time. Cons - not clean, sand is being taken from here using trucks.

Ambalapuzha beach.

Another beach that too small and best for people who live near the beach.It is easilty accessable from the Alappuzha beach.

Azheekkal beach.

This one is also small and best for people who live near the beach.

Prakkad beach.

This beach is also small and best for people who live near the beach.

Punnapra beach.

This beach is also small and best for people who live near the beach.

Thrikunnapuzha beach.

Not so big but beautiful place. Not so crowded. This beach is also the best for people who live near the beach.
