OET writing - Avoid this trap. In the OET writing test, case notes might include a lot of details.

In the OET writing test, case notes might include a lot of details.
For example, a case note might include a lot of information about patients’ treatment history; like surgeries done, medicines used, other hospital admissions, etc.
This will confuse many students because here, a decision should be made about ‘ what relevant points to add and what points to avoid ’ in the writing.

In this case, shorten the previous history to one or two sentences at the beginning.
Then expand and focus on what happened to the patient after they got admitted.
Is the condition deteriorating, or stable, what medicines/care are given, which tests are conducted, etc?
Ie. what happened to the patient after admission, should be the most relevant part of the writing.
