Scooter CVT belt breaking? Even the new one?This can be not only scary, but also a traumatic experience, when the belt snaps while riding. Here is how to fix.

Causes - CVT snapping often.
No grease / rust.
Rusted pully, clutch system along with lack of l lubrication can cause belt to snap. Even a new belt will snap within few days if any part of the CVT get stuck.
Solution - make sure any rust is removed and grease is applied properly.
Worn belt.
This is the number one cause of belt snapping. There is no other underlying issue here, and therefore just replace the belt.

Clutch problem.
A damaged clutch/clutch plate can cause it to get stuck and the belt will snap.
Solution - The clutch plate should be removed along with springs.
Wrong size.
Small or even oversized belt can cause a whole lot of problems.
Solution - make sure to use manufacturer recommended part is used.
